Kaleigh Imbriale & TEDxNashville
Now Bringing Women Together With Ideas Worth Sharing
Kaleigh Imbriale, Executive Director of TedXNashville, tells Lipstick Economy how TedXNashville has thrived in Nashville for ten years, becoming one of the ten largest TedX events worldwide. The popular event programming was enhanced with the addition of the TedXNashvilleWomen event in 2018.
What should we know about Kaleigh?
Kaleigh has been a fan of TedX long before she became the Executive Director. She has favorite Ted Talks that she regularly watches for inspiration. So it was natural that the TedX role was perfect for Kaleigh.
As Executive Director of TEDxNashville (TEDx Talks), she is tasked with producing the single largest idea conference in the Southeast and one of the top 10 TEDx’s in the country. In her role she oversees all aspects of operation including speaker selection, sponsorships and fulfillment, volunteer recruitment and management, budget and marketing. Before joining TEDxNashville, Kaleigh was the Community Engagement Director at Lightning 100 overseeing all events, promotions, and listener engagement strategy, and before that she was at CMT on the Programming Strategy team.
PURE LIVING NASHVILLE INTERVIEW
BE BOLD AND BRILLIANT AT TEDX NASHVILLE WOMEN
On Friday 6 December, TEDx Nashville will host its second annual women’s conference. TEDx is an offshoot program for communities to bring the ethos of TED talks to local people. The theme for the 2019 event is ‘bold and brilliant’, and speakers include actor and producer Rita Wilson and Nashville author Lily Clayton Hansen.
Ahead of the event, we spoke to TEDxNashville’s executive director Kaleigh Imbriale to find out more.
How long has TEDx Nashville been running and what does your role encompass?
In 2020 we will be celebrating our eleventh year of bringing ‘Ideas Worth Spreading’ from innovators, creators, and thinkers in Nashville and beyond to the TEDx platform. I came on as Executive Director in July 2019 and am the only paid employee. I rely heavily on my amazing team of volunteer Board of Directors and Committee Members to make these conferences happen, but ultimately my role touches on every aspect of producing an event of this caliber including planning, strategy, marketing, sponsorships, volunteer management, speaker selection & engagement and operations.

"WE THE PEOPLE" EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Executive Director at TEDxNashville Kaleigh Imbriale said: “Just as Belmont’s Executive Learning Network brings together Nashville’s thought leaders, movers and shakers, and innovators, TEDxNashville’s audience also has that same fire and passion for learning and expanding their minds. For us, it’s a natural fit that we should come together and partner with our area universities, and we are thrilled that the Presidential Debate has given us the opportunity to join forces with Belmont University for a special TEDxNashville event, centered around the theme of democracy.”
